Give Yourself the gift of You!
🎁 Give Yourself the Gift of Time
December has a way of speeding up at a breath-taking pace, just as our bodies are naturally ready to slow down.
At work, it’s all about year-end deadlines and goal stress. At home, it’s coordinating family logistics, travel planning, budgeting for the next year, increased domestic chore demands, negotiating social commitments, never-ending holiday gatherings, and the social expectation - whether spoken or not - that we should somehow not just hold it together, but do so with grace and aplomb.
It’s a season full of joy, yes.
But, for many, it’s also a season that depletes us.
🥰 It Feels Good to Give
One of the most beautiful qualities we share as humans is that giving makes us feel better. Neuroscience shows that generosity activates reward centers in the brain and strengthens our sense of connection. It’s why giving to others -whether of your time or otherwise- can be the best way to improve your mental outlook.
Unfortunately, many of us are too busy giving to everyone else without a second thought for what we might need or what we might be able to give to ourselves.
🤲 Fill Your Own Cup
Your presence, your leadership, your kindness, your perspective… they’re all uniquely yours and a part of what makes you special. But they need nourishment to thrive.
So, take a moment to ask yourself, “What gift am I giving to myself this season?”
Consider:
What do I want to do this month?
What am I only doing out of obligation?
What could honoring my well-being look like?
What habit -or boundary- could bring me back into alignment?
This is about showing up intentionally. More centered, more thoughtfully, and more authentically you. 💝
💝 Give Yourself the Gift of YOU!
This December, don’t forget the most important person on your list. YOU!
Your rest is a gift. Your joy is a gift.
Your smile is a gift. Your laugh is a gift.
Your boundaries are a gift. Your alignment is a gift.
YOU are a gift.
When you can give generously to yourself and begin to reframe your thinking, you don’t just feel better – you show up better for everyone else, too.
